U.S. Deputy Marshall Lindsey served from 1890 until the early 1900's. He served in Eastern Texas and from the Ardmore Court (Oklahoma) in southern Indian Territory. He led a posse and Lindsey shot and killed Bill Dalton on June 8, 1894. Bill Dalton had robbed the bank in Longview Texas on May 25, 1894. During the robbery the Dalton gang killed several town residents. After retiring as Deputy Marshall he ranched near Ardmore, Oklahoma.
