He went into The Confederate Army as A Captain of Co. D of The 28th Infantry on Sept. 13, 1861., along with many Family members.
He was Wounded twice, First in The Thigh at Sharpsburg, Maryland on Sept. 17, 1862. On July 22, 1863 he rejoined the Confederacy with his Brother, Capt. John B. Garrison of the Georgia State Guards, he then had a serious Fracture of his left foot. He received a Confederate Soldiers Pension in 1891 for his wounds.
After the war, He worked as a Tax Assessor for Cherokee County. His wife was Mary Hammond.
