Henry Moss was the Locamotive Fireman assigned to the ''Ponce De Leon '' southern railroad passenger train which was involved in the Disaster at Rockmart ,Georgia on Sunday evening at about 6:40 P.M. December 23,1926 as the train was approching Rockmart and failed to take the sidetrack to allow an opposing train to pass by on the main track. The opposing train was the passenger train ''The Royal Palm" and both trains were involved in a head-on collision.18 passengers were killed immedaitely 1 died on December 24, at the Harbin Hospital in Rome , Georgia all of the dead and injured were riding the ''Ponce De Leon'' train and no-one aboard the ''Royal Palm'' was injured.An update, according to the official accident report, the event took place between 6:40 and 6:45 P.M.It was after dark and had been raining all day when this happened.The Total number killed was 19 and over 125 were injured.On the official Georgia death certifacate for this individuel, it is a handwritten certificate by the M.D. stating manner and cause of death and at first glance it seems that the middle name is ''Pierson''? however, after more research and the Cemetery memorial name carving, the middle name is ''Ralph''.
