WORCESTER - Iva E. (Hanson) Desilets, 66, of 1050 Main St., a retired machine operator, died yesterday in the Life Care Center of Auburn after an illness.
Her husband, Robert F. Desilets, died in 1990. She leaves a son, Robert R. Desilets of Wheelwright; three daughters, Cindy A. Desilets of Worcester, Dona M. Cutting of Auburn and Penny A. Weagle of Gloucester; three brothers, Paul Hanson of Worcester, David Hanson of Ithaca, N.Y., and Raymond Hanson of Dudley; two sisters, Hilda Ristau of Ione, Wash., and Hope Walsh of Auburn; five grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Charlton, daughter of Russell G. and Cecelia (Scheivert) Hanson, and lived here most of her life. She graduated from Worcester Girls Trade High School.
Mrs. Desilets was a machine operator at Wachusett Molding Co. for several years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the 1050 Club at Webster Square Towers. She was an enthusiastic craftsman.
The funeral will be held Tuesday from O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Ave., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 53 Illinois St. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Hospital, Oncology Department, 25 Winthrop St., Worcester, MA 01604.
