Mother was the second daughter born to Clarence and Hester Beil. She had one sister(Elizabeth Beil Patton - FAG memorial 24690703). My grandmother did have a 3rd child (a boy) but unfortunatly he did not survive and was never named.
Mother graduated from John Harris High School the same year that she married daddy. They actually had 2 graduating classes back then. A winter and a summer one. She graduated with the winter one and married my dad February 17, 1939.....which also happened to be her birthday as well. She said that as soon as she met him she knew that she was going to marry him. They were married for 52 years.
Mother was a "stay at home mom." She never worked outside the home, but she kept herself busy loving and caring for her 7 children. She enjoyed reading and doing 'Find a Word' puzzles and she was right beside Daddy cheering for the Hershey Bears.
She was the best mother in the whole world. She always had a hot meal on the table every night for dinner. All home cooked meals......no TV dinners or fast food restaurants for our family. (With 7 children who could afford it?)
She always put her family first. Whatever one of us needed, we got. She sacrificed a lot so that her children could have what was needed. I remember her wearing shoes that had started to fall apart and were held together with electrical tape. Even later, when us kids got married and left home and things eased up financially, she still had a hard time spending money on herself. When given a gift such as slippers, a nightie, or even sheets....she would save them for later even though her slippers or whatever needed to be replaced right then. After many years of teasing we finally got her to stop saving things for later.
My grandmother lived with us as well. And she is the reason all us kids called our mother....Mother. My grandmother felt it was disrespectful to call her anything else.
Mother was preceded in death by daddy (who died 5 days before Christmas)Dec. 20, 1991, then 6 months later she lost her youngest child to cancer, Stevie died June 21, 1992. Then 3 short years later she lost her oldest child, Billy died Sept. 13, 1995.
Mother died 8 days after her 76th birthday. She had congestive heart failure.
She is sadly missed by her surviving children Michael, Cindy, Annette, Brenda and Janice.

Dorothy J. Boyer, 76, of Swatara Twp. died Tuesday in Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
She was the widow of William E. Boyer Sr. Surviving are a son, Michael A. Sr. of Lemoyne; four daughters, Cynthia K. Shocker of Harrisburg, Annette J. Hippensteel of Swatara Twp., Brenda S. Kohr of Middletown and Janice M. Wagner of Harrisburg; a sister, Elizabeth Patton of Cornwall; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Kimmel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
