America Jackson was born to Aileen Marie (Wood) and Charles Kneeland Jackson jr. on 20 JUN 1919. She was delivered by Dr. Young at St Joseph's Hospital, San Diego California.

She was baptized on 29 JUL 1919 at St Vincent's Catholic Church in Mission Hills, San Diego with maternal Uncle Lucien Adrian Wood being godfather and maternal Auntie Agnes Louise Wood as godmother. Her honorary godmother and namesake was good family friend, America Workman Grant; Mrs. US Grant, Jr. (FAG #106398442).

America spent the early years of her life summering in "Tent City"; the historical outdoor city south of the Hotel del Coronado, on the Strand at Coronado California. She graduated from Our Lady of Peace Academy of San Diego, and attended San Diego State University until she was swept off her feet by the dashing young 'Annapolis Man' in uniform, Ensign Francis Raymond Molitor, USN.

Mrs. Aileen Jackson announced the marriage of America Aileen to Francis Raymond Molitor, on Sunday, the 12th of April 1942, at St Joan of Arc Church, Las Vegas Nevada. Joy and sadness co-mingled at the affair. It was a festive event, yet dampened by the awareness that the groom had already received his orders for overseas shipboard duty.

America was a warm loving mother, but a busy one, having birthed 6 children in her eleven years of marriage. Her infant son, Tony, preceeded her in death and her infant daughter, Margaret, accompanied her in death.

America continues to gladden many a heart. May YOUR Perpetual Light shine through us.

EARLY SOJOURNERS
Mr. and Mrs. Charles K. Jackson of
San Diego and little daughter, America,
took up their summer residence in Palm-
Cottage 12175^2 on April 15, and during
the formal opening celebration of the Tent
City season on May 1st they entertained
Mr. and Mrs. U. S. Grant, Jr., of San
Diego, who greatly enjoyed the outing
by the seaside. Little Miss America,
not yet a year old, and who is the name-
sake of Mrs. Grant, is already the most
popular young lady in the big resort.
She has a special playground fenced in
right in front of the Jackson domicile on
Main street close to the Tent City office,
where she can watch all the new arrivals
each day.
