Winkel, Christian Friedrich (Dec. 29, 1821-Sept. 15, 1893 –husband of Louise –served in the Union Army in the Civil War –was in Company B, 6th Wisconsin Infantry –enlisted Oct. 18, 1864 and mustered out on July 5, 1865 –on Aug. 21, 1862 purchased a one acre lot from the farm of Thomas Hopper at 20228 Townline Road in Section 34, Town of Eaton and had a house built –lived here until at least 1871 –is shown in the 1870 Eaton census as living here with his wife Louise and children Carl [born in 1853] and daughter Louise [born 1855]) –buried at Bethlehem UCC Cemetery, Town of Schleswig
