Wilhelm Duerwaechter Plymouth Post February 6, 1909

Wilhelm Duerwaechter a long-time resident of Town Schleswig passed away last week Thursday at his home following a lengthy illness at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 24 days. He was born In Oelbronn, Wiertenberg, Germany and came to America with his parents, brothers and sisters in 1857. They settled in Germantown, Wisconsin where they lived for 2 ½ years. In the fall of 1861 he enlisted in the 9th Infantry Regiment of the Union Army and was discharged because of health problems. He was married to Maria Staat in 1867 and they had 10 children, of which five passed away before his death.
