Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Neta Corrine Dustin Driggs, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2012, surrounded by her loved ones.
Neta was born May 3, 1928 in Bates, Idaho, the oldest daughter of Van O. and Lillian Kunz Dustin. She lived her entire life in her beloved Teton Valley. After graduating from Teton High School, she attended Ricks College where she earned a teaching degree. She taught school in St. Anthony, Idaho for two years. In 1951 she fell in love with H. Jack Driggs following a blind date arranged by her sister, Marlene. She married Jack in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 22, 1951. They have been at each other's side for over 61 years.
More than anything, Neta loved being with her family. A cherished memory is her prize-winning homemade bread which was devoured by her children and all the kids in the neighborhood. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, genealogy work, picking huckleberries, quilting with her mother, crossword puzzles and played a mean game of hearts. Each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoyed receiving beautiful crocheted blankets and other crocheted gifts lovingly made by Neta.
Neta's business and organizational talents were reflected in the successful business (Driggs Plumbing) that she and Jack built together.
Her love of the Savior was reflected in every aspect of her life. She served quietly and steadfastly in each of her callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her greatest desire was to pass her love of the Savior on to her children which she valiantly did through her quiet, gentle way of setting an example of patience, love and enduring to the end. She is loved tremendously for that legacy by her family and all who knew her.
Jack and Neta spent many winters in Overton, Nevada. They and the family appreciate the great love and service (especially this past winter) given to them by Bishop Steve Holyoak; Neta's loving and devoted visiting teachers and members of the Overton 2nd Ward.
Neta was a sweet, loving example to all who knew her, but especially to her family. She loved unconditionally and her life was without guile. She will be greatly missed by her sweetheart, Jack; children: David (Janeane) Driggs, Carolyn (Phil) Ware, Joe (Robin) Driggs, Susan (David) Reeder, and Linda (Dale) Prows as well as 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Marlene Hansen, Debra Thornton, Brenda (Bob) Young and her brothers, Garren (Jan) Dustin and Vearl (Laura) Dustin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Van O. and Lillian Dustin and brothers Arvin Dustin and Myles Dustin.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 16, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Driggs LDS Stake Center. Friends and family may visit Sunday night from 6-8 p.m. and again Monday morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Driggs City Cemetery.
