Philmore, son of Ralph Cox and Mildred McDermott, Married Naomi Fae Murphy, Daughter of Fred O. Murphy and Elsie Olive Hickman, 17 May 1947, OK. To this marriage was born: Deborah DeAnn and JoElla.
Philmore Cox was born at Gunnison, Colorado to Ralph Cox and Mildred McDermott. He grew up at Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He servced in the U.S. Army during WWII, holding the rank of Staff Sgt and working as a surgical tech. He married Naomi Fae Murphy, the daughter of Fred O.Murphy and Elsie Olive Hickman ,17 May 1947 in Oklahoma and two daughters were born to this marriage: Deborah DeAnn and JoElla. The family settled in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 1951 and Philmore lived there until his passing in 1996.
He worked as a machinist in Tulsa for a time, and later owned his own business in Broken Arrow, Marblette Tile and Carpet. He also owned a restaurant there, The Gingham Girl. Philmore served as an elder in the church of Christ. He loved the church, he loved people, and he loved sports.
Philmore passed from this life after suffering a heart attack. He was 70 years old.
