Edward died Fri., Dec. 8, 2007, at Forest Hills Nursing Home, Broken Arrow, at the age of 91.
The son of Calvin Sidney and Martha Viola (Turpin) Browning was born Jan. 21, 1916, in Collinsville, TX. Edward graduated from Coleman High School, and then went to work as a foreman of Teleweld Corporation out of Chicago from 1936-52. Edward then worked as a conductor and brakeman for the Railroad Union Pacific, Rock Island, and Burlington Northern. On May 10, 1940, Edward married Imogene Kendrick in Durant. Edward is a member of the Blue Starr Church of Christ. He loved country, bluegrass, and gospel music, and enjoyed playing his harmonica. Edward loved all his children, their mates, and grandchildren singing and having ‘pickin' & grinin' parties'.
He is survived by his wife, Imogene Browning; sons: Gary Browning and wife, Sherry of Tulsa, and Glenn Browning and wife, Anna of Kirksville, MO; daughter, Pamela Bell and husband, Nathan of Broken Arrow; brother, George Browning; sisters: Merle Bush, Stella Watson, and Della Jones; grandchildren: Sheridyn Breedlove, Shantyl Cooke, Zane Browning, Katie Coldwell, Sarah Coldwell, Alisha Linder, Janelle Browning, Clint Browning, Benjamin Browning, Cash Browning, Toni Browning, Gina Hurley, Lathan Findling, Jennifer Neilson, Heather Askew, and Matthew Bell; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Tom, Benson, and Weldon Browning; and sisters: Esty Keithley, and Irene Browning.
