Heber Hal Christiansen, 68, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep of cancer on Christmas day, December 25, 1991 in the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah.
He was born March 19, 1923 in Richfield, Utah, the eldest son of Heber Joseph and Emma Montez Ogden Christiansen. He married Thelma Geraldine (Gerri) Hixson on March 17, 1947 in Nevada; solemnized May 7, 1960 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Hal attended schools in Central and Monroe, and one year of college in Cedar City, before enlisting in the Navy during World War II. He was an active member of the LDS Church serving as Scout Master, counselor in the Bishopric, High Priest Group leader, and in many other positions in the Central Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Central Valley; one son and four daughters, Linda and Larry Ellerton, Lindon; Karen and LaRell Brox, of Moab; Barbara and Kevin Stout of Virgin; Joe and Pam Christiansen of Moab; and Robyn and Rick Welch of St. George; 12 grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, William V. and Aida Christiansen, Las Vegas, Nev.; Richard O. and Marcia Christiansen, Centerville; Marjorie and Bill Gardner of Bountiful; and Pat and John Busk of Bountiful; one uncle, Morris and Geniel Ogden of Richfield.
Preceded in death by parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 1991 at 12:00 noon, in the Central LDS Ward Chapel in Annabella, Utah. Friends may call at the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Friday evening 7-9 p.m. and at the Central Ward chapel in Annabella from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services.
Burial in the Richfield Cemtery under the direction of Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary.
