WILLIAM DIVELEY IS DEAD.
Had Been a Resident of Kansas City Since 1858.

William Diveley, a resdent of Kansas City since before the civil war, died suddenly yesterday morning at his home, 1212 Pacific. It is believed that his death was caused by heart failure. Mr. Diveley came to Kansas City about 1858 and during the early days of rebellion was a captain in the home guards here. At the close of the war he engaged in the mercantile business, for a number of years conducting a queensware establishment at the corner of Second and Main streets. In those days Second street was in the center of the business district. Later he moved south on Main, between Fifth and Missouri avenue, where he remained until he retired from business. He was 70 years old and was a brother of the late Michael Diveley , who died about three years ago.
The deceased is survived by three sons, Charles O., a salesman; Joseph E., an artist; William Brenton, a barn man for the police department.
No arrangements will be made for the funeral until word can be received from relatives in Kansas and Pennsylvania.
