Murder Victim. Two-year-old Anna was beaten by her mother and made to sit in a cold bath all day as punishment for wetting her bed. Somehow Anna drowned and her father secretly buried the body. 25 years later, Anna's sister turned their mother in to the police after having repeated nightmares about witnessing Anna's death. The mother, who by then was 52 years old, said that the toddler died a natural death and that her body was secretly buried because the family feared deportation to Mexico. An investigation was launched but no body was ever found, and the only evidence investigators could find that Anna Marie even existed was a birth certificate obtained from Michigan, where the child was born, and a picture of the toddler from an aunt in Ohio. The mother was the only one arrested as by then the father was already deceased. She stood trial and was found guilty of murder. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
