Ellis G. Beatty, 51, of Allegheny Ave., South Connellsville, was dead on arrival at 11:15 a.m. Monday at Uniontown Hospital September 18, 1961. He was born April 16, 1910, at Broad Ford, a son of the late John S. and Cora L. Herrington Beatty, and had been a lifelong resident of this district.
He was an employee of Connellsville Sportswear Co. and a member of the Amalgamated Clothes Workers Union. A World War II veteran, he served in the Pacific theater, and was a member of Walter E. Brown Post No. 21, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the F. 0. Eagles, and Central Methodist Church.
Surviving are four brothers, Robert E. and Warren T. of South Connellsville, Earl of Winchester, Ind., and J. D. of Brockway, and four sisters, Miss Clara at home, Mrs. William (Frances) Garlick of South Connellsville, Mrs. Arthur (Catherine) Phuntek of Coalbrook and Mrs. Edwin (Jessie) Moser of Amherst, Ohio.
The body will be at the Brooks funeral home after 4 p.m. today. The funeral service will be held there at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. H. Morris Shields officiating, assisted by the Rev. R. A. Nelson. Interment will be in Green Ridge Memorial Park.
