"JOSEPH P. BRENNER PIONEER RESIDENT CALLED FROM LIFE
Had Been in Grocery Business For Past Twenty-Three Years
Joseph P. Brenner, 70, pioneer resident of this city died at the family home at 5:45 o'clock Wednesday morning after a four years illness.
The deceased had lived here since 1909 and had been in the grocery business during that time.
He had been active in the business, which bears his name, until several years ago when he was forced to relinquish his duties to his son Lawrence C. Brenner.
Besides the widow, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Janet McCauley and Lawrence C. Brenner of the home. Two sisters, Mrs. Chas. T. Schudi and Mrs. Lena Harnish of Covington, Ky., and two brothers, William Brenner, Chicago, Ill., and John Brenner, Covington, Ky.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 2:00 o'clock in the Thompson chapel with Rev. I. A. Humbred officiating.
Pallbearers were: S. L. Gill, B. S. Duffield, H. E. Tomme, Otto Becka, R. H. Adair, E. W. Bauer, Dr. F. M. Jensen and H. L. Curry.
Burial was made in the Raymondville cemetery."
