Deborah Jean Tolman

ESCANABA Deborah Jean Tolman, 54, of Kaukauna, Wis., former Escanaba resident, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday Aug. 7, 2005, in Escanaba.

She was born Sept. 8, 1950, in Escanaba and was the daughter of Henry "Bob" and Ardell (Peterson) Allen. She was a graduate of Escanaba High School.

On Aug. 28, 1971, the former Deborah Jean Allen married Gary Tolman at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Escanaba.

While living in Escanaba, she was employed at the Bonefeld Furniture Store and later for Dial Enterprises in the Delta Plaza Mall. Deborah and her husband, Gary, also managed several different restaurants in the mall during her employment with Dial.

She was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Deborah was a very active member of Players de Noc, directing musicals, acting in plays and also writing many of the scripts for the yearly reviews. This past Saturday evening, she was presented with the lifetime achievement "Players Shining Star Award."

Deborah Jean Tolman is survived by: her husband, Gary Tolman of Kauakauna, Wis.; a brother, Daniel (Ava) Allen of Colorado; her mother-in-law, Phyllis Tolman of Escanaba; brother-in-law, Greg (Cathy) Tolman of Escanaba; sister-in-law, Gayle (Joe) Skorupski of Cornell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at the First Presbyterian Church in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Deborah Jean Tolman will take place at 6 p.m. at the church with Rev. Scott White officiating.

A luncheon will be served following the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Window Fund and envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home or at the church the day of the service.
