Louise Laurenzi Agnone

Louise Laurenzi Agnone, 80, of Scranton and Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., died on Thursday after an illness. She was the wife of Dr. Frank A. Agnone. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on Nov. 23.

Born in Old Forge, she was the daughter of the late John and Mamie Laurenzi. She attended Old Forge High School before graduating from Marywood College with a degree in music. She taught music in Old Forge and Dearborn and Detroit, Mich., schools. A member of St. Paul's Church, Scranton, Louise was a woman of deep faith. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren were very much the focus of her life. She was known for her creative skills, warmth and hospitality. When not tending to her family, golf was her passion. She worked tirelessly with her dear friends to celebrate women's golf. The Women's Golf Association of the Country Club of Scranton, of which she was a member, honored her as this year's recipient of the Marian Isaacs Award. An active volunteer, she also served for many years as president of the Scranton District Dental Auxiliary, the Scranton Prep Mothers Club and the social outreach ministry of her church.

Also surviving are three daughters, Marilouise Ruane and husband, Thomas, Scranton; Marisa Regan and husband, Robert, Manassas, Va.; and Francine Kevra and husband, John, Scranton; a son, Frank Jr., M.D., and wife, Brenda, Phoenix; and her grandchildren, Lauren Beckwith, Joelle, Natalie, Brian and Robby Regan; Peter and Martin Agnone Ruane, Rachel, Annie and Kathryn Kevra, and Sarah, Christopher and Joseph Agnone; and great-grandchildren, Liam and Brady Beckwith. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann Taffera; and a brother, Andrew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated on Saturday, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, 1510 Penn Ave., Scranton, by Bishop Emeritus James C. Timlin and Monsignor Michael DeLaney.

The family will receive friends at the church for the hour preceding services. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Arrangements, Frank M. Regan Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in Louise's name may be made to the Catherine McCauley Center for Women and Children, 709 Madison Ave., Scranton.
