♱ DEATH NOTICE ♱

John Laurenzi, 88, of Rear 112 Mary Street, Old Forge, died Friday morning at Moses Taylor Hospital. His widow is the former Pearl Innamorati, formerly of Swoyerville. His first wife, the former Mamie Podracky, preceded him in death. Born in Old Forge, son of the late Brando and Luisa Micheli Laurenzi, he attended Old Forge schools and was active in local politics. He was self-employed as the owner of a moving and coal trucking company, and L&T Amusements. He was a charter member and past president of the Old Forge Lions Club and was an active Lions Eye Bank Volunteer. He was a member of the Giovanile Society, Old Forge and Moosic Senior Citizens. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Old Forge, its Holy Name Society and he served as a church usher for many years.

Also surviving are a daughter, Louise Agnone, Scranton, two sisters, Pauline, Old Forge and Sylvia Cherundolo, Wilmington, DE, 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Laurenzi Taffera, two sisters, Mary Rinaldi and Julia Laurenzi and a brother, Pompey Laurenzi. The funeral will be Monday at 9am at the Victor M Ferri Funeral Home, 522 Fallon Street, Old Forge with Mass at 9:30am in St. Mary's Church. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Viewing tonight 7-9pm, Sunday 2-4 pm and 7-9pm. Rosary Recital at 3:30pm,

The Old Forge Lions Club will meet Sunday at 8pm in the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Northeast Pennsylvania Lions Eye Bank, Box 50, Dunmore, Hospice St. John, Scranton, Northeast Health and Hospice, Old Forge or the donor's favorite charity.
