Labon Jackson Smith was the son of John "Hominy Creek" Smith (1809-1884) and Sarah A. Watson (1815-1892 - m. 1834 Elbert County). Labon married Drucilla Ann Lucretia Linn on October 7, 1858, in Carroll County, Georgia. Drucilla was born in Warren County, Georgia July 19, 1842 - the daughter of John Linn (c. 1780-1851) and Mildred "Millie" Wood (1817-1903).
