George Block,the son of Swiss/German immigrants John and Margaret (Schluneggar) Block (Bloch) was born Oct 14, 1891. He married Faye Gladys Conard (1897 -1975) in 1915. Faye was the daughter of Charles and Olive "Ollie" Conard. Both George and Faye were born in Wayne County, IL. He was a farmer by trade and the father of six children - Edith, Randall, Gerald, Ray, Doris, and Wanda . One of his favorite songs was "In the Shade of the Old Apple Tree" He died Jun 14, 1966.
