Daughter of Allen Clark Hodges and Mary Borst.
Wife of Joseph Frank Nutter.
Mrs. Lydia Evalyn Nutter, a most respected resident of this vicinity passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elmer Pressey on last Saturday. In her death Rockford losses a woman who was always doing her best to make the pathway of her friends brighter by her many acts of kindness. She was born in Irving [Erwin], New York on September 25, 1861  and came to Michigan when she was eighteen years of age. Accompanied by her husband who passed away about three years ago, they came to Rockford in their early married life. To this union were born seven children, five of whom are living, John and Lance of Jackson, Hollis of Concord, Mrs. Hope Sheldon of Kalkaska, and Mrs. Elmer Pressey of this village. She had been a member of the Baptist church for the past two years. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Conklin on last Saturday and the remains were taken to Jackson where interment was made from the home of her son, Lance.
