Meriam Marjory "Mary" Murphy was a survivor of the Donner Party.
She was the daughter of Levinah W. Jackson Murphy and Jeremiah Burns Murphy. "Mary" was rescued by the First Relief party in February of 1847. At the age of fourteen, she was married first to William Johnson. It did not last long and she divorced him, reportedly because he was abusive. Also surviving were two sisters and two brothers: Sarah Ann Charlotte Murphy Foster, Harriet Frances Murphy Pike Nye, William Green Murphy and Simon Peter Murphy.
On December 25, 1848 at Sutter's Fort, Sacramento, California she married Charles Julian Covillaud. Covillaud had arrived in California with another wagon train using the same route through the mountains about two weeks prior to the Donner Party's fateful attempt. He founded the city of Marysville, naming it for his new wife.

The Mary Covillaud Elementary school in Marysville is named in her honor.
