MARY A H CARTER - DIED
Died, on December 14, at her son's home near Polk, Mary A. H. Carter, wife of the late Dr. J. E. Carter. She was born in Knox county, Tennessee in 1830, and moved to Missouri in 1849. She was married in 1848 to Dr. J. E. Carter. To this union were born 14 children, seven sons and seven daughters. Five of her sons still survive her.
Hers was a rare Christian life, having professed faith in Christ at the age of 18 and united with the M. E. Church of which she remained a consistent member until death. She leaves a host of friends and relative to mourn their loss.
Her remains were taken to Louisburg for interment. Funeral services were conducted by Elder White.
