Mary Ann is a daughter of Silas and Ellender Wallace Bell. She married Solomon Hayes Wilson at age fourteen on December 8, 1844, and moved with her husband and five children to Dade County, Missouri in 1957. They settled on the old homestead in what is now known as the Hampton neighborhood where most of their children were born and raised. She is a mother of fifteen, twelve who lived to adulthood.
From her obituary-
...during these ten years and more of her widowhood, while she knew that she lived in the affections of her children and grandchildren, yet she longed for the companionship of him who had been her comfort and support during the most active period of her earthly life; and let us hope that their pure spirits are now reunited in the Paradise of God, and are there awaiting our coming.
Mary Ann with her husband, soon after coming to the state, united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, first at Old Liberty, then at Hampton and afterward at Everton. From here they have been transferred both "To the general assembly and church of the first born, which are written in heaven and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect."
Momma Wilson was one of God's noble women; she was truly a mother of Israel. She has gone out from us, yet her influence for good still lives. "Her childrenn call her blessed, and her own works praise her in the gates."
