Funeral Services were conducted for the late Mrs. Ed Elser at Moore Bros. Funeral Home Friday at two o'clock p.m., with Rev. R. M. Hudson, pastor of the Church of God, officiating. Mrs. Ray Yousling and Mrs. W. D. Shearer sand "Lead Kindly Light" and "The Lights of Home," accompanied by Mrs. John Collier. Interment was made in the Ida Grove cemetery. Pall bearers were Wm. O'Meara, Merl Metz, Purl Moore and Carmen Russell.
Jessie Velma Kiner, daughter of F. F. and Elizabeth Kiner, was born at Cairo, Iowa, April 1, 1868, and passed away at her home on West Second street Wednesday evening, August 27th. She had attained the age of 73 years, 4 months and 27 days.

Came Here in 1882

In 1882 she came to Ida Grove with her parents and here resided the rest of her life. She was united in marriage with Edwin F. Elser on December 6th, 1888. To this union two children were born, Mrs. John Fawcett of Davenport and Frank Elser of Ida Grove, both of whom survive their mother.
Mrs. Elser was a kind and home loving mother and she graciously ministered unto her children and grandchildren, and later the little great grandchildren were a pride and joy in her life. Her happiest moments were when she was spreading sunshine and joy to those about her. Her home was always open to old and young alike and therein true hospitality and friendship reigned. In December 1938 Mr. And Mrs. Elser celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with all of the member of their family present.

Failing Health

She had been in failing health the past two years and the past summer her decline became rapid. Without a word of complaint she bore her discomfort patiently. About four weeks ago she became bedfast and all of the care and medical aid were to no avail.
She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, two children and four grandchildren, Mrs. Maxine Smith and Mrs Harriet Solbrig of Davenport, Mona Mae and Ava Lou Elser of Ida Grove. Also four great grandchildren and one brother, A. H. Kiner of Sioux Falls, S.D.
