Emma Eliza Kiner was born in Louisa County, Iowa, December 2, 1857 and passed away November 11, 1933, having reached the age of 75 years, 11 months and 9 days. She was of a family of eight children, four of who have preceded her in death, namely S.W. Kiner, Nino W., Myra S. and Chas. Kiner.
In 1879 she was united in marriage with E.L. Latchaw at Ida Grove and to this union five children were born, Forest F. Latchaw, who died Jan. 12 1909; Ross R., of Ida Grove; Pearle M. Crawford of Inglewood Calif; Vernie and Nettie who passed away at an early age.
Mrs. Latchaw had made her home with her son Ross for many years and passed away there after an illness of several months duration. She was a member of the Church of God, having united with the church at an early age. Surviving are her children Ross R. of Ida Grove; Pearle Crawford of Inglewood, Calif, seven grandchildren: Ross Jr., Ralph, Raymond and Reese Latchaw; Mrs Pearle Rathbun all of Ida Grove; Mrs. Lucille Thompson of Laurel, Neb., and Mrs. Winston Armstrong of Los Angles. There are also six great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Jessie Elser of Ida Grove and two brothers, H.A. Kiner of Sioux Falls and F.C. Kiner of this city.
Funeral services were held at the Church of God Monday at 2 p.m. Rev R. Jinkerson having charge of the service and internment was made in the Ida Grove cemetery. Pall bearers were Henry Barthel, Ray Walter, Albert Walter, F.A. Oliver, Don Oliver and Ed Skogland.
