He was born on April 23, 1922 in Athens, WV to Donzie & Lena Caldwell Lilly. He was a graduate of Athens H.S. and received BS and DDS degrees from Northwestern Univ., Chicago. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a dentist, a Mason, and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Scottish Rite, Beni Kedem Shrine Temple and West Charleston Kiwanis Club.
Surviving: wife, Rose Starks Lilly; sons, C. Brent of Clarksburg, Donzie "Chip" III of Dallas; sisters, Mary Hobart and Lillyan Lilly, both of Worthington, Oh.; brother, Richard V. of Fort Myers, Fla; one granddaughter. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home.
