Lillyan Lilly, age 89, of Worthington, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Friendship Village of Dublin. She was born December 2, 1919, in Athens, WV, the daughter of the late Dr. Donzie and Lena Lilly.
Lillyan graduated from Athens High School in 1936 and Concord College, Athens, WV in 1940. She taught Biology and Physical Education in West Virginia and Cincinnati, OH for 39 years. [Her most famous student was Pete Rose.]
Preceded in death by her sister Phyllis Lilly Hinton, brothers Dr. Scott Lilly and Dr. Donzie Lilly II. Surviving are her sister, Mary Ann, and brother, Dr. Richard Lilly; nieces and nephews, Lynn Snyder, Sharon Hobart, Rick Hobart, Chip Lilly, Brent Lilly, Karen Lilly, Patricia Coldman, and Elizabeth Funnell. Service of Remembrance for family & friends 2 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel.
