'Mrs W.L. Hunt is Victim of Tragic Death at Huckabay"

Mrs W.L. Hunt,40, was killed accidently while helping her husband saw wood on their farm near Huckabay at 1:15 Monday afternoon, Interment was made in the Huckabay Cemetery at 4:oo p.m. Tuesday with the Hardin Funeral home in charge. Rev. Alvin Mauldin, Methodist minister of Huckabay, and Rev. W.J. Rucker of Strawn, officiated.

The accident was caused by the high wind blowing her clothing into the gasoline-driven saw, which pulled her on into the death-dealing machine. Chas. Hunt of Stephenville, who is a brother-in-law of Mrs. Hunt said Tuesday after returning from the funeral.

Mrs. Hunt was born in Oak Dale, but having moved from there to Huckabay with her parents at an early age, she was a resident practically all her life of that place on which she was killed.

This accident was one of the most gruesome tragedies ever occurring in the county.

Mrs Hunt is survived by her husband, W.L. Hunt: three step children, Mary, who is still at home, John,a teacher in Lubbock, and Joseph, who is in the US.Navy; her mother, Mrs. W.N. Johnson; three brothers, Guy, John, Ralph, and three sisters, one whom, Miss Nita Johnson,lives in Stephenville , John, a brother,is also a resident of Stephenville.

The mother and father, Mr.and Mrs. W.N. Johnson, a little brother, Guy, and two sisters lived in Stephenville until Mr. Johnson's death a little more than a year ago, after which they moved to New Mexico.

Robbie Lee was a descendent of Nelson "Cooney" Mitchell. A story about Nelson Mitchell is told in a book caled "Outlaw on the Dodge" with Baldy Russell.
