Army captain and World-Class race walker. Zinn was the AAU champion in the 2-mile race walk for 1961, 1962, 1963 and 1964. He participated in the 20,000 meter race walk in the 1960 Olympics, finishing 19th and 1964 Olympics, finishing 6th. He was killed in Vietnam. The USA Track and Field organization has established the Captain Ron Zinn Memorial Award, which is given to outstanding contributors to the field of race walking. (bio by: Warrick L. Barrett)
