Kenneth Jason "Ken" Bennett, 18, died Tuesday (October 4, 2005) at Satilla Regional Medical Center from injuries received in an automobile accident.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross and a member of Haywood Baptist Church. He was a 2005 Honor Graduate of Ware County High School and recipient of the 2005 Ware County Educators Scholarship. He was also the former vice-president of the Ware County FFA where he earned the FFA's prestigious honor, the Blue & Gold Award.

The survivors include his parents, Dale and Carole Bennett of Waycross; a brother, Alan Bennett (wife Michelle) of Waycross; two nephews, Alan Michael Bennett and Nathan James Bennett both of Waycross; paternal grandparents, Ferrell Bennett (late husband J.M.) of Waycross; maternal grandparents, Raynell and Burniece Lee of Brunswick; three uncles, Ronnie Bennett (wife Elaine), Adrian Bennett, and Jerry Lee all of Waycross; three aunts, Lillian Faulk (late husband Foy) of Waycross, Tammy Clayton (husband Berry) of Cedar Key, Fla., and Susie Lee of Brunswick; and numerous cousins and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday (October 7, 2005) at Jamestown Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Ben James Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Thursday night from 6 until 8 o'clock.

Active and former members of the Ware County FFA are asked to meet at the church on Friday by 3:30 p.m. to serve as honorary pallbearers.
