◦Frank Beznoska, 75, passed away in the Schuyler hospital Friday, Dec 21. Death followed a stroke which he suffered the previous afternoon. He was born August 10, 1881, in Saunders County near Morse Bluff. In 1902 his family moved to Oklahoma. On September 6, 1904 he was married to Bessie Havlik at Lawton.
In 1918 they came to this community and farmed until 1935 when they moved to North Bend. Here Mr. Beznoska worked at Watt's store until he retired a few years ago. On September 6, 1954, Mr and Mrs Beznoska celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. In 1953 he received his 50 year pin from the ZCJB lodge.
Survivors include his wife and one son, Raymond Beznoska of North Bend; four brothers, Louis, Joseph, Adolph and James, all of Oklahoma; four sisters, Anna Ruzicka of Moorehead, Minn; Albie Kucera, Lillie Tomasek, Millie Arthur, Agnes Muckendorfer, all of North Bend; one grandson Kenneth, eighteen nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Sellhorn Mortuary. Rev. Hugh H. Houchin officiated. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Alice Kersbergen. She was accompanied by Mrs. Vernelle Karsk. Pallbearers were Leonard Tomasek, Leland Tomasek, Duane Arthur, Ernest Kucera, Bob Allen and Louis Masiny. Burial was in the Killian cemetery in Saunders county.
