Everyone called him "Bill"
Bill Adams, born in Benton, Arkansas on November 19, 1902, was the oldest son of Ella Frances Leech and James Robert Adams. He had one brother, Robert Lowell Adams (1913-1959)and four sisters, Jessie Burks Zinn( 1892-?), Olive Victoria Adams Samples Biesecker (1904-1992), Margaret Sara Adams Edmison (1906-1977), and Mary Evelyn Adams Fittinger (1908-1995).
Bill married Myra Lucy Hutcheson on November 22, 1924. They raised two sons: Wilburn Curtis Adams (1925-1998) and Don Gary Adams (1932-2008). They lived their entire lives on the "Homeplace" of Myra's parents, Charles Asbury and Belle Wall Hutcheson. The property had been in her family since the early 1880's.
Bill worked at Reynolds Aluminum plant. Myra was manager of the Benton Kroger store for 18 years, retiring in 1958. Both he and his wife were involved in the Ozark Foothills Craft Guild. In 1971 they were invited to demonstrate their craft at Washington D C during the American Folk Festival at the Smithsonian Museum.
Their favorite pastime was "goin' fishin'" at Avant on Lake Ouachita, where they owned "The Cabin". Many happy times were had by all, especially the grandchildren.
At the time of their deaths, Bill and Myra were survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
