Father of Reno Woman Passes
Ely (Special) - Funeral services for David Russell Kerr, 84, who died at his home in Ely Saturday, were held Tuesday at the Wilson-Bates chapel, under the direction of the Ely Second Ward LDS church. Burial was in Ely Cemetery.
Kerr was born Sept. 19, 1873, in Riverdale, Utah, the son of David A. and Margaret Russell Kerr. He was educated in the Utah public schools.
He was married to May Swallow on July 5, 1909, in Salt Lake City, and in 1923 operated a ranch in Spring Valley until his retirement in 1950 when he moved to Ely. He was a member of the Ely Second Ward LDS church.
He is survived by his widow, six sons, Robert of Ely, Alfred of Ely, George of Quincy, Calif., Claude of Oakland, Calif., and Kenneth and Rodney of Tacoma, Wash: three daughters, Mrs. Annabelle Nichols of Ely, Mrs. Mary Williams of Reno, Mrs. Betty Jean Fraser of Vancouver, Wash: sister, Mrs. John Banford or Woods Cross, Utah, and 21 grandchildren.
