My Grandfathers Sister.
Maxine M. Naze, 84, formerly of Rosiere, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006. She was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Algoma, to the late Charles and Ellen (Keogh) Zastrow. She married Joseph Naze on Sept. 27, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1988. Maxine had a deep love of music, singing with the Sweet Adelines and the St. Hubert choir. She sang "Ave Maria" at many weddings. Maxine had a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by three daughters, Colleen (Merle) Jeanquart, Terri (David) Englebert and Jeanette (Jim) Crowe; nine grandchildren, Susan, Jill, Wendy, Shawn, Kevin, Chad, Eric, Quintin and Kristine; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose Blahnik.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas and Joseph; two brothers, Harry and Charles Zastrow; one sister, Clarissa Charles.
Friends may call at Wiesner-Massart Funeral Home (Casco), from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and again Saturday morning at the funeral home until 10:30 a.m. Wake service 7 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m. at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Rosiere with Fr. Dennis Drury officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
Maxine's family wishes to thank the caregivers at Anna's House for their patience and compassion. A thank you also to Fr. Dennis and Fr. Suess.
