Frederick Earl "Cobb" Cantonwine was the son of Alfred Dennis and Etta Hannah (Guire) Cantonwine, the grandson of Jacob and Christena (Dillon/Dilling) Cantonwine, and the great-grandson of Charles and Mary Cantonwine.
Charles, the patriarch of the Cantonwine family, immigrated to America from Prussia in 1806, arriving in Philadelphia, Penn., aboard the ship Orlando. The ship's passenger list shows Chr. Kuntentwine, single man. Eight or so years later, Charles married Mary (surname unknown) in about 1814 in Bedford county, Pennsylvania.
Frederick married Essie M. Guire some time before 1925.
