KILLEEN — Services for retired Lt. Col. Annie Ruth Munn, 64, of Killeen will be held at noon Friday at Anderson Chapel AME Church with the Rev. William Campbell officiating.

Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.

She died Thursday, July 8, at a local hospital.

She was born July 29, 1945, in Columbus, Ga., to Ethel and Willie B. McCoy. She received her education in the Columbus and Atlanta, Ga. areas. After graduating in 1966 with a nursing degree from Grady Medical Hospital of Nursing she earned a bachelor of science and master of science degrees from Medical College of Georgia in 1974 and 1975. She joined the U.S. Army in 1978 and retired in 1998 at the rank of lieutenant colonel. Her military assignments took her to Georgia, California, Maryland, Hawaii and Fort Hood. She was also employed in civil service in the department of nursing at Darnall Army Medical Center, retiring in September 2009, She was a member of Anderson Chapel AME Church.

Survivors include a son, Karleton J. Munn of Salt Lake City; and a brother, Willie C. McCoy.

Memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 811 W. Evergreen Ave., Suite 303, Chicago, Ill., 60642.

Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
