grandmother to Ayla
Chris was born and raised in Munford, Al. She was a 1973 graduate of Munford High School. She retired from Anniston Army Depot after 25 years due to the decline in her health. Chris had bouts of cancer over the years but always managed to beat it until this last time. She was diagnosed with a rare form of hermangiosarcoma last year and finally succumbed to it in June.
She will always be remembered for her quick wit and outgoing personality, she never met a stranger. She was knowledgable of so many things, so smart.
Her passion was the deaf community and she was proficient in American Sign Language, working as an interpreter in various venues. She taught crochet to the blind and volunteered as a mentor to disadvantaged and troubled youth. She was on the board of directors of a local credit union and traveled extensively in this capacity.
She had many friends and was loved by all. I am honored to call her my friend.

You are loved beyond words
Missed beyond measure
Your life was a Blessing
Your memory a treasure
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free;
I took His hand when I heard him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
If my parting has left a void;
Then fill it with remembered joy.
My life's been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss;
Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief;
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me;
God wanted me now, He set me free.
