27th Governor of Indiana, January 11, 1909-January 13, 1913; candidate for Democratic nomination for President, 1912; Vice President of the United States, March 4, 1913-March 4, 1921. Coined the saying: "What this country needs is a good five-cent cigar." Originally buried at the Estates of Serenity in Marion, Indiana, he was later reinterred at Crown Hill Cemetery.
