Bryant was born to a large family in NC, and came to WV sometime after 1870, when the family was living in Ashe county, NC.
By 1880 his household was in Jumping Branch District, WV.
He was the son of Isaiah and Mary Rose.
Bryant's name was enumerated in the 1890 census of June, in Jumping Branch, as a CSA veteran of Company K of the 51st Regiment of Virginia Infantry.
This record indicates he was a prisoner of war for 7 days.
His brother Richard served in the 63rd, died from sickness in 1863, and is interred in Virginia.*
Bryant's various family are buried in North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, and Ohio.
Bryant married Rosemond Wyatt in Ashe county, NC 10 Jan 1850.
The 1850 census for the household lists Bryant as 22, and Rosemond as 20, Grayson county (making his birthdate 1828).
Land transactions are recorded in books of three states.
Bryant was a farmer, and the ancestor of the Roses of the Camp Creek community area of West Virginia.
Bryant's second marriage, to Eliza C. Farmer, on 9 April 1898 took place in Mercer county, WV.
They had one daughter, Violet Rose.
He died at Camp Creek, 81 years, 10 months, 3 days old.
Informant, son, Levy.

No two of any available records give the same estimates of his age, which is also true of most records involving members of the Rose families. I have used the birthdate given to me by Violet.
The transcriptions of the marriage bond of Bryant's parents generally give the marriage date as 1826, in March, which will make your genealogy programs protest. The date of a bond sealing for the application for a license does not necessarily mean that was the same date of a marriage ceremony performed.
Looking at the image, though, the date MIGHT have been 1820, the pen stroke could read either way. In any case, they applied for thier marriage in Wilkes county, North Carolina, where Isaiah worked as a mechanic, from a later census record.
