Funeral for Norman T. "Norm" Sullivan of McMinnville will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Dayton First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bardwell Marshall officiating. Visitation will be until 7 o'clock tonight in the Chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville.

Mr. Sullivan died July 23, 2004, in Legacy Emanuel Hospital, Portland. He was 66. Private family interment will be in the McMinnville Masonic Cemetery.

He was born July 27, 1937, in Yancey, Texas, son of Willis C. and Josephine D. Seymour Sullivan. He moved to Oklahoma and then to Boone, Colo., where he graduated from high school. He then graduated from Western State College in Gunnison, Colo.

He and Carol Lynne Roberts married Sept. 15, 1956, in Taos, N.M. He started teaching and coaching in Colorado. In the early 1980s, he moved to McMinnville and received his master's degree from Linfield College in 1984. He continued to coach in basketball and baseball, and taught history at Willamina, Amity and St. Paul schools.

Mr. Sullivan was a member of the Oregon Athletic Coaches Association, loved to fish and be outdoors, was a Civil War buff and liked to discuss politics.

Survivors include a son, Mark Sullivan of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Kelly Banks of Springfield, Va., Terri Mullin of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Shelly Swearingen of Noblesville, Ind.; two brothers, Dewey Sullivan of Dayton and Windle Sullivan of Topeka, Kan.; two sisters, Sharon Russell of Stayton and Jonell Wahab of Brighton, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lefty Sullivan.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton Booster Club for football activities in care of Macy & Son, 135 N.E. Evans St., McMinnville, OR 97128.
