Anthony C. "Buzz" Sirianni of 575 Thornton St., Sharon, died unexpectedly on Sunday (6-25-06) at home after a sudden illness. He was 63.
Mr. Sirianni was born on Dec. 18, 1942, in Sharon, a son of Anthony C. "Gibby" and Mary I. DeOnna Sirianni.
He graduated from Brookfield High School in 1960 and went on to barber school in Pittsburgh.
Buzz was very active in the valley sports arena, having coached Little League teams twice to the state tournament in the 1980s. In addition, he was a sportscaster for WPIC for about 10 years. He also was a PIAA umpire in both boys baseball and girls softball, serving as an umpire during state tournaments.
He was probably best known for running his business, "Buzz Sirianni's Barber Shop," where everyone would gather to talk about sports, politics or an array of various topics. At times his shop became "The Pulse of Sharon."
In his spare time, he enjoyed walking in the park, traveling, watching sports, attending games and being a loyal Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Pirates fan.
Most of all, he especially loved spending time with his grandkids, who claim him to be the "Best Grandpa on this Earth."
His wife, the former Charlotte J. Muntean, whom he married July 2, 1966, survives at home.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Sheila A. Mills and her husband Michael, Cranberry Township, Butler County; his brothers, Gabriel Sirianni, Masury; Michael Sirianni and his wife Sandra, Sharon; James Sirianni and his wife Janice, Brookfield; Thomas Sirianni, Montgomery, Ala.; and Jeffrey Sirianni and his wife Linda, Howland; a sister, Marlene Kocan and her husband Jerry, Roswell, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Sophia M. and Anthony J. "AJ" Mills.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Connie Sirianni.
As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to West Hill Ministries to purchase new sporting equipment, 301 W. State St., Sharon 16146.
