Charles passed from this life to one free from pain on Thursday, June 19, 2008, in Longview.
Charles was an integral part of our lives; we will continue our lives with the assurance that we will see him again in his new body when we join him and so many others at the throne of God.
Charles was born May 26, 1931, in Dover, Arkansas, to the Reverend M.H. and Ruby Baird. Mr. Baird will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and grandfather and for his love of church, family and friends. A musician, having played his instruments in church from the age of 15 years, he was a member of the Steel Guitar Association. He was also a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict.
Charles served in the Southside Assembly of God Church through the years in the capacity of youth leader, Men's Fellowship Leader, Sunday school superintendent and taught the Auditorium Bible Class. Charles retired from Texas Eastman Co. after 34 years of service.
His most cherished asset was being a great man of faith and integrity; his word was his bond.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the Reverend M.H. and Ruby Baird.
In his latter years, Charles and Janiece attended the Rose Heights Church.
The Baird family extends their heartfelt thanks to all their many friends and everyone who has touched their lives with love, hope and their prayers. Each of you have made this experience a bit easier with your kind words, loving care and gentle smiles.
