Obituary, The Oklahoman, February 16, 1949
Mrs. Rosa Owens, 74, of 130 Northeast 13, died Tuesday morning in her home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Garrison Funeral Home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Officiating will be Reverend Dorsey Kelly, pastor of Christ Methodist Church.

Born in Union County, Ohio, Mrs. Owens came to Oklahoma at the time of the land run. Upon getting married, she and her husband settled on a homestead in Logan County. They moved to Oklahoma City about 35 years ago. Her husband died in 1946. She was a member of Christ Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Leonard, 2413 North Laird; a sister, Mrs. Flora Hubbard, 4810 Northwest 32; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Mitchell, 30 Northwest 14th, and Mrs. Nell Bordner, Los Angeles, California; seven granddaughters, and three great-granddaughters.
