Jessie was the daughter of Louisa Ellen (Minnich) Clingaman and Daniel A. Clingaman, the last living Civil War veteran in Ohio. She was born in Spring Hill (now Tedrow), Ohio. Jessie married Carl Beckham Fauver in 1907. They had one son, Stanley Carl Fauver, and two grandchildren, Judith Kay and Blair Lynn.
Jessie and Carl lived in the family home (built by Daniel and Louisa Clingaman) north of Wauseon, Ohio until 1950 when they moved to E. Oak Street, Wauseon, Ohio with Jessie's father, Daniel Clingaman. It was there that Daniel died at the age of 104Y-4M-23D the following year.
Grandma was a kind and loving person. She was so good to me. I loved going to their house. In the summer I would sit on the front porch, usually reading books, and Grandma would make me a root beer or orange cooler(ice cream and pop). We played board games in the winter. Grandma was a very good cook and homemaker.
Grandma was a grand lady. She had a nice selection of dresses, hats and jewelry she wore for church and dressy occasions. She had a dresser in her bedroom that had the pretty brush, comb, mirror set. They were beautiful. She had old fashioned things like "Ideals" magazine to peruse. I still love that magazine.
She and her husband, Carl, took care of her father until he died at the age of 104, 4 mos and 23 days. She had lived with her father/him with her, her entire life.
Jessie died as a result of a stroke at the age of 88. I miss her so much but am thankful she was in my life as long as she was.
