Major League Baseball Player, Coach. He was a member of the 1954 St. Louis Cardinals and the 1962 Los Angeles Angels. He appeared in 104 games during his major league career, hitting a combined .177 average with 2 home runs and 14 runs batted in. Following his playing career he worked as a coaching assistant for the New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, Atlanta Braves, Texas Rangers, and as a scout for the Seattle Mariners organization. In 1992 he was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the London, Ontario, Sports Hall of Fame and the Rochester Red Wings Hall of Fame. He died at his home in Lambeth, Ontario, Canada from cancer at the age of 81.
