Professional Football Player. For three seasons (1990, 1992 and 1994), he played at the center position in the National Football League with the Seattle Seahawks. Born Joseph Salvatore Tofflemire, he was raised in Post Falls, Idaho where he attended high school. He played collegiate football at the University of Arizona and while with the Wildcats, he received first-team All-Pac Ten honors three-times and was recipient of the Morris Trophy as the Pac Ten's Top Offensive Lineman in 1988. Selected by Seattle during the 2nd round of the 1989 NFL Draft, Tofflemire earned the Seahawks' starting center role in 1992 and blocked for quarterback Stan Gelbaugh. For the remainder of his career until retirement in 1995, he would be hampered with injuries. He was inducted into the University of Arizona Hall Athletics Hall of Fame in 1994. He died from heart failure at the age of 46.
