Chile President. He served as President of Chile from 1910 to 1915. During his presidency the first electric public lighting in the country was installed, the National Library was built, Chilean neutrality was decreed in the First World War, and the Treaty ABC (Argentina, Brazil and Chile) was signed/. He also declared the Chilean sovereignty over Isla de Pascua (Easter Island) and in 1913 was inaugurated the railway line from Arica to La Paz, Bolivia. (bio by: Rolo)
