|Birth: ||Jan. 7, 1872|
|Death: ||Jul. 9, 1880|
George died while living at the Illinois Soldiers and Sailors Orphan Home in Normal Illinois and is buried in the home plot. His cause of death is listed as "Thorn or splinter in his heart." I am not sure what this actually means. He is listed as living on the home as of 9 jun 1880 on the 1880 McLean County census (corp normal, pg. 36, diet 4, #166): as Jolsen, George, WM, 8, inmate, Born in Indiana The box "sick" is not checked for him, yet he passed away 1 month later. Also on the Census are listed William (age 18, born in Indiana), Hattie (WF, age 9, born in Indiana), and Edward Jolsen (WM, age 6 born in Illinois). I am not sure if they are related. I am gathering information on the ISSOH children. Please contact me if you have any info to share.
Note: Buried in the plot for the Children of the Soldiers and Sailor's Orphan Home in Normal, IL. I am currently searching for family. Please let me know if you are related.
